This is the BEST honey butter cornbread I've ever made. EVER! I knew it was going to good because honey and butter together is the ultimate combination, but with a recipe like cornbread, it's going to be a 10/10!
I like making homemade cornbread but during the holidays I like to step it up a bit. I love the combination of honey and butter together so I knew I wanted this flavor in the cornbread and on top. This time I made my cornbread in my cast iron skillet. The skillet gives the cornbread crispy edges that makes this cornbread so delicious. The middle is soft and the outer edges crispy. It's like my dream cornbread recipe.
Fluffy honey cornbread

The cornbread mixture is light and fluffy. When I poured the mixture into my cast iron skillet it was like air. I knew this cornbread recipe would come out just like I wanted it to. This recipe has a 35 minute bake time at 400 degrees. Check on the cornbread around 18 minutes and brush your cornbread with some of the honey butter I have listed in the recipe below.
I highly recommend you making this recipe for the holidays. I promise it'll be a hit at the kitchen table.

This recipe sounds incredible! My cornbread has *always* been the sad, dense ghost of its former self. I immediately want to try this, especially the cast iron crispy edges. Im slightly intimidated by the amount of butter and honey, but mostly just excited to see if it lives up to being like my dream cornbread recipe. Ill definitely be brushing it with honey butter during baking – seems like a crucial step! Highly recommend this for holidays, though I suspect my dog might try to sneak a bite before its even cool. Cant wait to try this and report back, maybe with a 5-star rating if its as amazing as described!
