Granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 cup milk + 1 cup of buttermilk (2 cups in total)
⅔ cup melted butter + 4 tablespoon of honey
Instructions
Grease your cast iron skillet and preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
Melt the ⅔ cup of melted butter (11 tbsp) and 4 tablespoon of honey. Set aside and let cool.
In a medium-sized bowl add the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix together.
Follow this up with the eggs, milk, and buttermilk. Use a spoon to mix this all together.
Pour the cornbread mixture into your greased cast iron pan. Bake for 35 minutes.
At the 18 minute mark brush your cornbread with a little bit of the honey butter. Pop it back in the oven to finish baking.
Once done, use a toothpick to see if it's ready. Brush with more honey butter and enjoy!
