Craving queso and want to make it fast? Look no further, I have the best Easy Vegan Queso (dairy-free) recipe for you to make at home with minimal ingredients. A few ingredients, one pot on the stove top. Let's get cooking! Normally people use a high-speed blender to make this recipe then heat it up but I put all of the ingredients on the stove top. I had this recipe on my mind for a while since I kept seeing vegan queso all over my Instagram feed. Of course you can have the real thing but this vegan queso was actually delicious. Simple ingredients but packed with flavor. Don't forget those tortilla chips!
So let's talk about this Easy Vegan Queso (dairy-free)
One of the main ingredients is nutritional yeast which is a deactivated yeast. It looks like little flakes in the package. I've used nutritional yeast before and each time I use it in a vegan or plant-based recipe it turns out so delicious. A lot of people make vegan cashew queso but I decided to go a different route. Here's what I decided to do for this creamy vegan queso recipe.
- 1 and ¾ cup non-dairy unsweetened almond milk
- ¼ cup vegan flour
- 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
- Pickled jalapenos or green chiles (1 tablespoon of the water they sit in. I used this for extra spice. And I also added extra pickled jalapenos on top of the queso)
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- Optional (raw cashews)
- Optional (2 tbs coconut milk)
- Pinch of pepper

This chessy dip is perfect with my favorite tortilla chips or you can add it on top of a delicious burrito bowl. There will be a ton of leftover queso with this recipe so you can add it to whatever you want. You can also mix in some black beans to add some extra flavor. I'm not saying this recipe tastes like real cheese but it's super tasty. This vegan queso is your go-to recipe for taco night! Check out more of my quick appetizers here.
