I'm a big fan of one-pan pasta recipes!
I've been making one-pan pasta dinners for years now but this one has to be my favorite. My husband and I had leftovers for days and each day we had leftovers it was better than before. Pasta is the ultimate comfort food and this is a great recipe for a busy day and you need something quick to eat. You can never go wrong with a large pot of pasta. You don't have to use the exact pasta I used in this recipe. Feel free to swap out the ruffles with spaghetti noodles. gluten-free pasta, or angel hair. The ruffles pasta I used is low-calorie and low-carb if you happen to be on the hunt for a healthy alternative.
This dish pairs well with my vegetable stuffed mushroom or homemade meatballs. Or you can make it like I did in the photo with some broccoli, onions, and shredded parmesan cheese. For a little razzle dazzle I love to add some red pepper flakes on top. I love a little spice in my pasta. To begin this recipe I cooked the broccoli and onions on the stove top with about 2 tbs of olive oil. Once the vegetable are softened add in the pasta sauce and mix everything together. I would also recommend using a creamy sauce like Alfredo or vodka sauce for a swap. Follow this step up with adding the cooked pasta. I do not recommend adding dry pasta to this recipe. Make sure it's cooked. You can also swap in gluten-free pasta if you want something different and homemade sauce. If you need some season inspiration I like to use the following.
- Italian seasoning
- Rosemary seasoning
- Garlic powder or Minced garlic
Cook everything on medium heat for 10 minutes and enjoy with some garlic bread or some sides.
Why you'll love this recipe!
- Easy weeknight dinner for the busy people out there that don't have time to cook. When I have to go into the office I'm so tired at the end of the day I just don't feel like cooking a large meal. This one-pan pasta is the best!
- The whole family can enjoy leftovers. It'll last for a few days.
- You can customize this recipe in any way. Want to add meat, more veggies? The possibilities are endless!
