Homemade Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks
A lot of your favorite pizza spots make breadsticks but why not make your favorite appetizer at home. One of my favorite New England pizza spots makes delicious homemade cheesy garlic breadsticks so one day I was really craving them and I just happened to have all of the ingredients at home.
I made these Homemade Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks using Pillsbury pizza dough! Yes all you need is the pizza dough, some pizza sauce, cheese and seasoning. I'm a big fan of pre-made dough, because making homemade dough is so tough to make but also if you're busy you want something quick. And sometimes dough can take hours to make. You cut back on so much time with the Pillsbury dough.
An easy to make appetizer you can make right now, and I know for a fact that you are going to keep making this recipe. All of the appetizers I make always end up being a full meal for me because I can't stop eating them. You can also try to make this recipe in a cast iron pan - I guess it will look like a pizza but you can cut it in a way where you can still call this appetizer a breadstick. Keep reading for tips and ingredients.
Tips ⬇️
- Homemade dough can be used if you want to get creative in the kitchen but I had a great result with the pillsbury dough and it's just as good.
- Experiment with different cheese if you have time.
- Adding garlic salt or fresh garlic on top of the cheese adds a kick to the breadsticks. I highly suggest you try it.
- Mix it up and use different types of sauces. It doesn't need to be the typical marinara sauce. Switch it up and make a buffalo ranch + cheese breadstick if you're feeling wild.
