Who want's to make Valentine's Day Cupcakes!
Valentine's day is coming up and I made a super cute cupcake recipe you'll love! Hidden hearts inside these vanilla valentine's day cupcakes. This is the type of recipe that'll take you some time, but when they're done you'll love the end result. The fun part about these valentines day cupcakes is the little heart inside which I made with a small red sheet cake. That's the first step in this recipe, you need to start and cook the red sheet cake before you begin the vanilla cupcakes. It doesn't take long so that's always good news. To make the red heart sheet cake you need the following below.
For the red heart sheet cake
For this step I used a red velvet cake mix to make this step easier. I placed the cake mixture in a small cake pan lined with parchment paper. Make sure it's spread enough so it cooks properly and you have enough sheet cake to cut out the hearts with your heart cookie cutters. Cook the cake according to the instructions on the box. Once it's done, set aside to cool completely.

Now, lets make the vanilla cupcakes!

Valentines Day Cupcakes
Ingredients
- 6 tbs unsalted butter (softened)
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- ⅔ cup original almond milk
- 1 ¼ cup flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Red heart sheet cake:
- ⅓ cup flour
- 5 tablespoon unsalted butter softened
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- red food coloring 2-3 drops
Instructions
Red Heart Sheet Cake:
- Use a red velvet cake mix to make this process easier. Follow the steps on the box and let the cake cool. You have to have a heart cookie cutter for this step so you can make the hidden hearts in the cupcakes.
Cupcake Mix:
- Mix your butter and sugar together until the mixture is fluffy.
- Follow this up by adding your egg, vanilla extract, and almond milk.
- Follow this up by adding the flour and salt. I like to add the flour and salt to a separate bowl then add it to the wet mixture.
- Mix everything together in your electric mixer or by hand until everything is combined.
- Fill your cupcake liners with 1 teaspoon of the cupcake mix, next add the heart cutout from your red sheet cake and then follow this up by two to three more scoops of the vanilla cupcake mix. The mix won't cover the heart but that's okay. Don't overfill your liners. I like to use a cookie scoop for my cupcake mix.
- Cook at 375 for 18 minutes (possibly 20 if you need more time) Let cool and then frost your cupcakes!
- Cut the cupcake in half to see your hidden heart like my photo!
