This is Halloween! I'm here to kick off spooky season with these Halloween Rice Krispies. I LOVE rice krispie treats they're so delicious and easy to make and I think you'll enjoy making this quick halloween dessert. Rice Krispie treats don't take that long to make so if you're looking for a no-hassle treat keep reading.

Now, you can swap out the butter I used in this recipe with plant based butter to cut back on calories and of course there are other options for marshmallows, but for a classic rice krispies recipe you need to use all of the ingredients I list below. Not only does it taste delicious, sometimes when you swap ingredients the consistency of the recipe can change. I recommend sticking to the recipe if you want your rice krispies to turn out like how I made mine. Also, feel free to pick up Halloween sprinkles or candy eyes to add to each individual treat.

    Let's get spooky!

When I say this is such an easy to recipe to make, I mean it. It doesn't take much work and you really need only a few ingredients. Follow the recipe below to make this dessert!

    Ingredients:
6 tbs plant-based butter @countrycrock or regular butter. You can also cut this back to half a stick of butter
    5-6 cups rice krispies
    ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
    4 cups mini marshmallows

6-10 drops of green food coloring, I use the gel one

    Instructions:
    1. Melt butter on the stove top at medium heat.
    2. Once melted, add your marshmallows and mix until melted. While doing this, also add the green food coloring.
    3. Take this mixture off the stove and add rice krispies. Mix until combined.
    4. Pour the rice krispie mix into a pan lined with parchment paper (this helps the rice krispies come out easier)
    5. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes or eat right away.
