Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoon All-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ tbs Granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon Baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ cup Whole milk (or milk alternative) Or you can use ¼ cup of water
  • 1 ½ tablespoon Melted butter
  • ¼ teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk (optional) - This makes the cake richer and gives it a more traditional vanilla cake texture.

Instructions

  • Set your oven to 350 degrees
  • Grease your baking ramekin and set it aside. Melt your butter next.
  • Whisk your flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt
  • Stir in the melted butter, milk, and vanilla. Mix until combined
  • Pour the cake batter in and bake for 25-30 minutes. Check at 22–24 minutes because single-serve cakes can overbake quickly. The top should spring back lightly, and a toothpick should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Top your cake with icing and sprinkles. Enjoy!

Notes

Oven temp may change the bake time. Keep an eye on the cake as it's baking to see if you may or may not need more time in the oven.
