Preheat oven to 350
Prep a square baking pan with parchment paper and set aisde.
In a medium-sized bowl add your flour baking soda and baking powder, pumpkin pie spice, and finally the salt. Whisk this up and set aside.
In another bowl all the softened butter and both sugars. Use a mixer for a spoon to mix this up until the mixture is fluffy.. Add the eggs one at a time followed by the pumpkin puree and vanilla extract.
Add the flour mixture ½ cup at a time to the wet mixture and using your spoon make sure everything is mixed together properly. Scrape down the bowl walls to make sure there isn't any flour left around.
Add the bars to the square baking pan and spread out using a spoon. Make sure the batter covers all of the corners.
Bake the bars at 350 for 45-55 minutes. Check halfway with a toothpick to see if it's ready. If the toothpick comes out clean then the bars are ready.
As the bars are baking start the cream cheese frosting. Add all of the ingredients to a medium-sized bowl and mix with your hand or stand mixer. Use a spoon if you don't have either.
Let the cooked bars cool before you spread the frosting on top.
