Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Course Dessert
Servings 10 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 ⅓ cup All-purpose flour
  • ½ cup Unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
  • ¾ cup Light brown sugar (loosley packed)
  • ½ cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 Large egg
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract or vanilla paste
  • ½ teaspoon Baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 Chocolate bar chopped up into chunks + 1 cup of mini chocolate chips
  • Optional: Flakey sea salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Melt the butter on the stovetop and let cool. In your stand mixer, mix the butter and sugars on low speed. Slowly add in your egg and vanilla extract.
  • On the side in a medium-sized bowl. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together and slowly add this flour mixture to the butter and sugar mix. I added the flour mixture ½ cup at a time. Scrape down the bowl to get the extra flour on the side properly mixed.
  • Take the bowl off the stand mixer and fold in the chocolate chips. Scoop the cookie dough and place the cookies 1 inch apart on your baking sheet.
  • If using a 1 inch cookie scoop, bake the cookies for 11-13 minutes (check at the 11 minute mark) and take the cookies out of the oven when they're done. Cool on your baking sheet for 5 minutes and enjoy the cookies nice and warm.
*If you're using a larger cookie scoop bake for 15 minutes
