Ingredients

For the potatoes

  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp Pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon Rosemary leaves
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground Thyme

Cheese Sauce

  • 3 tablespoon Melted butter
  • 2 tbsp Flour
  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • 1 cup Cheddar jack cheese (to be put on top of the cheese sauce)

Instructions

  • Peel and slide 5 baking potatoes and set aside - make sure you clean the potatoes after you peel them in lukewarm water for 5 minutes.
  • Coat sliced potatoes in the seasoning.
  • Coat a baking dish with spray or olive oil. Place the sliced potatoes in the baking dish horizontally.

Cheese Sauce

  • Add the butter, whole milk, and flour to a small sauce pan and stir until the cheese sauce is cream. Pour the warm cheese sauce over the potatoes and use a spoon to spread it around. Add the 1 cup of shredded cheddar jack cheese on top.
  • Cook at 400 degrees for 25 minutes with aluminum foil. After the 25 minutes, take the foil off and cook for another 50 minutes. Enjoy when the potatoes are soft and the cheese turns golden brown. Use a fork to test the potato tenderness.
