In your stand mixer or with your hand mixer in a medium-sized bowl, add the butter and sugar and mix until fluffy. Slowly add the eggs and vanilla extract.
Follow that step up with cocoa powder, flour, salt and baking powder. Make sure you scrape down the bowl to make sure all of the ingredients blend properly.
Line your square baking pan with parchment paper and spread the brownie batter to the egdes.
Next up, prepare your cheesecake layer. I added all of the ingredients into a medium-sized bowl and mixed until all of the clumps are gone. Pour the cheesecake layer on top of the brownie layer. Baking at 350 for 33 minutes. The edges of the cheesecake layer should be slightly brown.
Let the cheesecake brownies cool in the pan and pull the parchment paper up. Cut into 9 individual brownies and enjoy! Also, once the brownies are cool you can pop them into the fridge to cool off if you prefer that. The brownies are delicious both cooled off and warm.
