Add butter to your saucepan on the stove and melt. Add the melted butter to a bowl with the 1 ½ cup of sugar. Mix together. Follow up with the food coloring, eggs, and vanilla extract and mix all of it together.
Next, add your flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Follow this up with chocolate chips.
Add this mixture to a square pan (coated in baking spray or parchment paper).
Shape the pre-made chocolate chip cookie dough into hearts and pop that onto your brownie mixture.
Cook for 30-35 minutes. Poke with a toothpick to see if it's done properly.
Cool in the pan for 10 minutes and cut the brownies.
